Savana

Hampton, VA

$175.00

Hello my name is Savana. I am a 6 year old, red short haired female doxie. My birthday is birthday is September 8th, 2005.  I am micro chipped and up to date on all my shots. I am also heartworm negative and take monthly heartworm prevention.

I had to come into the rescue because my mom and dad are getting a divorce…whatever that is.  All that I know is that I am a very sweet little girl who needs a quiet home.  I used to live with another dachshund, but sometimes I would get cranky and want my parents all to myself, sometimes they said I was being aggressive.

I always feed her separate from other dogs because I think they are trying to eat my dry kibble that I am currently eating which is called Natural Balance (grain free).  It is only 10% fat content which helps keep down my weight.  I never get people food except cheese or a boiled egg once in a while.  Grain Free dry food helps keep my teeth clean, it is easier on digestion.

I am very scared of thunder and lightning so sometimes my mom used to give me a benadryl or rescue remedy to calm help calm me down when she knew a storm was coming.

My former owner would let me sleep in the bed with her, but I also can sleep in my dog bed as well.

I am potty trained but sometimes I can make mistakes in a strange place. I also use pee pee pads when my owner is not at home to let me out.

I lived with an 8 year old boy but I prefer to not be around hyper, jumping kids as they make me nervous. But aren’t most doxies afraid of sudden noises and loud kids? I think I am normal.

I love toys that squeak and ball playing.  I also love bully sticks and compressed bones that are not made out of Rawhide. LOVES to play fetch and go for long rides in the car.

If you think you can offer Savana a forever home with your family or if you any additional questions, please contact his foster mom at cristalmiskovich@yahoo.com

Chase

Hampton, VA

$50.00

Chase is an 8 year old special needs dog. He is a shorthaired red dachshund who was turned into rescue after he was diagnosed with diabetes.  He is neutered and up to date on all of his shots.  He is on heartworm prevention.

Chase was evaluated for his diabetes and now requires two insulin shots a day which is taken with his meals. Chase does not mind the shots and all and has been doing very well. He must follow a low calorie diet to keep his blood sugar under control. He takes four units of insulin with each meal and will need periodic checks with the vet to see if he is staying on track, one bottle of insulin costs $24.88 and one bottle lasts over a month.

Chase is a great with other dogs, he very friendly and loves to go on walks and is full of life. He wants to be left alone when he eats. He doesn't mind the cat in the house.

He is housebroken. That has GOT to be a plus in a doxie!

If you think you can offer Chase a forever home with your family or if you any additional questions, please contact his foster mom at cricket256482@yahoo.com or call 757-771-1000

Charlotte (ADOPTED)
Newport News, VA
$225.00
Charlotte is a 3 year old smooth, red sable female dachshund. Miss Charlotte weighs in at about 13 pounds.  She is up to date on her shots and heartworm negative.  She is also on heartworm prevention.
Charlotte is an owner turn in due to them having something called a “human baby”… She is quiet and well behaved but can also race around doing circles in the house with one of his foster siblings.
She likes to sleep in the bigbed or on a pillow in the bedroom. She never has to be crated and has never been destructive. She stays gated in the family room when her foster mom is at work.
Miss Charlotte is good around kids and other dogs as well as cats. She would probably do best with older children or teens. Once she warms up she is an awesome, very smart and will tilt her head when you talk to her. She listens well and loves to go for car rides. She will roll right over onto her back for some serious belly rubs.

If you think you can offer Charlotte a forever home with your family or if you any additional questions, please contact his foster mom at melyndainva@cox.net

Dutchess

Kentucky

$175.00

This beautiful little girl is Dutchess.  She is about 5 years of age and up to date on all shots and heartworm negative.   Dutchess is a wonderful little girl, she loves to love, play and loves to be loved and petted on.  She is mostly potty trained but still needs some work.  She does need to go to a home where she will be the only child.  She is jealous of other pets and wants to fuss with them.

After all, if one is named Dutchess, she is royalty, right? She should be your ONE and ONLY….just like royalty!

She was separated from the other foster dogs and observed. Once alone, her behavior is great and she is a normal, loving little girl.   She wants to love on you and be loved on.  Would you like to be the one to give this special little lady the love and attention that she wants and deserves so much?

If you have a home where the Honorable and Royal Dutchess can reside please fill out the on-line adoption application.  You can also e-mail questions to her foster mom at doxiedachie@yahoo.com
