Who is Long Dog Dachshund Rescue? Long Dog Dachshund Rescue is an organization of volunteers that seeks to rescue abandoned, abused, neglected, and unwanted dachshunds and dachshund mixes, provide necessary veterinary and behavioral care for them, and place them in homes where they will be a perfect fit.
The Founders of LDDR together have more than 25+ years of rescue experience with Dachshunds and have been members of other rescue groups. They have started LDDR with the idea in mind that every adoption should remain personal with the adopting families. That once an LDDR dog, always an LDDR dog as they follow up with the adopting families throughout the doxie's life.
LDDR members work together as individual rescuers, but retain their independent status. As a group, they share access to the LDDR website, transport coordination and foster homes that help. As independent rescuers, they maintain control over how they rescue and place their foster dogs. Our members are responsible for the medical care their foster dogs require, and our members also determine their own adoption fees for the dogs they place in forever homes.
As a group one of our primary goals is raising money to help our own members with unusual medical expenditures. Every member is responsible for fundraising and outreach on behalf of LDDR.
Long Dog Daschund Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The tax id is 26-2834156.
